'Twas the Night before Australia

'Twas the night before Australia and all through the house no creature was stirring ... Except for me of course! Between the last minute packing and the excitement, I can't sleep!

As I began to finish my packing and try to wrap my brain around the fact that tomorrow I will actually be on my way to the land down under, I spent time thinking about what it is that I want to experience during my time there. What things am I going to learn? What experiences will I have that will forever change the course of my life?

This past week while I was at work, I was talking to a customer who had a similar experience. Although she didn't go to the same country nor did she go to student teach, she did go at a time in her life when she was starting over, as I will do shortly after my graduation and return to America. I can not wait to see how I will change and how my appreciation for diversity of culture and life it self will develop.

  1. Beautifully said dear! This experience will be an amazing one for you, that is for sure! Have fun while you soak it all in. Oh.......one more thing, when your camping in Australia, bring along 2 sticks. If you need to go to the bathroom or go to change into outfit # 4 for The day, and a wild animal jumps out to attack you, they say to first look the animal deeply in the eye, start to sway back and forth while you play the tune of any JB song, and lastly, pucker up and go in for the kill. They will jet out of there as fast as they can run. I am telling you, it works! Oh.........wait a minute.......I think I got that one all wrong. I think this was how you fight off the Thunder from down Under, not wild animals. Sorry! Just be careful there! Whether it will be wild beast or wild men....just be careful and have fun! Love ya KiKi!
